Family Violence Prevention & Crisis Support

Niitoiyis Family Support Society practices a wholistic approach to wellbeing, using traditional Indigenous teachings of the Medicine Wheel to promote healing. Our goal is to shield and protect vulnerable women and children against family violence, then provide support to find security, and ultimately guide affected people to empower change in their own lives.

Our 32-bed shelter provides 24/7 refuge, basic needs, and housing for women and children for up to a 3-week period.

Child Support Program

One-to-one counselling and support to children impacted by violence or bullying. We give parents and schools the skills to identify signs of bullying.

Indigenous Support

Traditional Indigenous healing guided by the Seven Sacred Teachings and other traditional wisdom. While inclusive of all cultures, we practice Indigenous healing methodology for all clients.

Equally Safe Response Team

A collaboration between community agencies and Calgary Police Service. The Outreach Case Manager provides Indigenous trauma-informed support to individuals from all cultures impacted by family violence.
