Niitoiyis Family Support Society works to stop family violence and all abuse, provide the support needed to find security, and guide affected people to empower change in their own lives.
Family Resource Network – Woman and Family Programs
The Family Resource Network (FRN) empowers families to embrace their unique identities through Indigenous culture, traditions, and community connection. We provide family violence prevention support, education, counselling, advocacy, and outreach services that promote safety, healing, resilience, and wellness for children, youth, and families.
- Family Violence Prevention Support through education, early intervention, safety planning, referrals, and community-based supports
- Family Traditions & Parenting Skills (Triple P) to strengthen family relationships and positive parenting practices
- Recreational and School Support to encourage healthy development and educational success
- Cultural Enrichment Activities that foster connection to Indigenous teachings, traditions, and identity
- Circles for children and youth who are aged 12 and older, which provide a safe and supportive space for learning, growth, and peer connection
- Basic Needs Support, including referrals, advocacy, and access to community resources
- Counselling Services for individuals and families
- Elder Services in partnership with Community Resource Centres
- Beading Circles and Women’s Healing Circles that promote cultural connection, wellness, and community support
Through culturally grounded programming and family violence prevention initiatives, the Family Resource Network creates opportunities for children, youth, and families to build strong connections, access support, and thrive in a community rooted in healing, belonging, empowerment, and respect. Journey to Men’s Mental Health
Supporting men who have been perpetrators or survivors of abuse to heal and evolve through traditional cultural teachings, spiritual and peer support. All cultures welcome.

- Hand drum making, tipi sessions, horse therapy

Youth Programs
Empowering Youth Through Culture
Programs for youth and young children in the Calgary area — nurturing identity, cultural connection and wellbeing through Indigenous traditions.
Youth Mentorship Program (Ages 13–17)
Join us every Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM for an engaging and supportive youth program designed to promote wellness, connection, and personal growth. Light snacks are provided.

Early Years Programs
Healthy Babies Network: A prenatal nutrition program funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada. The program supports expectant mothers and their families by promoting healthy pregnancies and providing access to basic necessities for infants from birth to one year of age.
Grandmother Turtle: A collaborative program with the Calgary Board of Education that introduces children aged 7 and under to the Seven Sacred Teachings. Each session is guided by an Elder, providing children and their families with opportunities to learn Indigenous values, cultural traditions, and teachings in a supportive and engaging environment.
